Naming conventions

Detector, Ladder, Tray

Names

Detectors, ladders and trays are identified by a simple index N and the suffices D, L, T. N = 1,2, ..... .

Type Name Comment
Detector DN The detector number is marked on the detector itself by the manufactor.
Ladder LN
Tray TN

Detector Position in a Ladder

The position of a detector within a ladder is indicated by a capital letter, A, B, C, D, E. The position A is the closeset to the electronics. The oriantation of a detector in the ladder is so that the bias resistors are away from the electronics.

Ladder Position in a Ladder

The ladder position wthin a tray is counted from 1 to 10.

Ladder Wire Bond Names

The wire bonds between detectors in a ladder are numbered from 0-321. Bond 0 and bond 321 are the bias ring connections. Bonds 1-320 are the 320 wire bonds between the strips.

iv-curves

The detectors, ladders and trays are tested during the assembly. In particular i-v curves of the total detector current are measured. The name of a file starts with the type of measuement (iv) followed by the name of the detector (or ladder, tray) and the date and time.
The date and time format is:
YYYYMMDD-hhmm
and is a fixed format with YYYY: year (4 digits), MM: month (2 digits), DD: day (2 digits), hh: hour (2 digits) and mm: minutes (2 digits).

iv curve for file name Example
Detector iv_DN _date_time.txt iv_D123_19990326_1230.txt
Ladder iv_LN _date_time.txt iv_L45_19991026_1530.txt
Tray iv_TN _date_time.txt iv_T5_19990508_0130.txt

Continuety Measurements

The file names for continuety measurements are the same as for iv-curves except that the suffix ivis replaced by cs.

Where are the files

The measurement results are on \\GLAST\home\glast\tracker.
