Minutes of the Tracker Electronics Meeting July 31 2000 Present: David, Dieter, Hartmut, Masa, Robert, Vallon, and Wilko Agenda: ? 1. Wilko: progress of digital-pickup testing Wilko reported that he needs one to two days to measure noise. David will be in UCSC Thursday to help. ? 2. Ned/Vallon: Tanner/layout Vallon stated that there are still issues with resistors and capacitors in Peregrine. He is trying to get dual port memory from Peregrine. Ned was not present. ? 3. Dave/Dieter: new analog test chip progress/plans Dieter reported that the tools are working well. He plans to have a rough version of the front end by the end of the week. We need to decide the size of the GTFE and pitch of the amplifier channels so layout is not stalled. Robert stated that Gwelen will look into this. Dieter reported that he needs the 0.3 um lambda SCMOS SUBM standard- cell library in order to use the standard capacitors. Dieter stated that he believes that little will be learned from submitting just the front-end amplifier because very little has been change from the last design. He prefers to submit the entire GTFE chip because more will be learned than just the front-end section due to possible digital interference. Robert stated again that we would submit a test chip in September with several channels of the preamplifier/shaper/discriminators. We will also attempt to submit the entire chip as soon as possible. > 4. A.O.B. Dave reported that there are no space qualified 0603 capacitors available. 0805 is the smallest, and the capacitance values are smaller than what was used in the BTEM.
