Minutes of the Tracker Electronics Meeting Aug. 7, 2000 Present: David, Dieter, Masa, Robert, Vallon, and Wilko Agenda: 1. Wilko: pickup testing and plans Wilko stated he is monitoring the fast or of only one layer. He sees a trigger of about 0.25 MIPs at about 2-3uS from the edge of the read command. There is a burst of signals out of the fast or starting at 20uS and settling down at 40- 60uS. These signals appear to be as large as 3 MIPs. Robert stated that this is likely caused when the clock turns off. Ned is concerned that ground loops caused from the hybrid being powered from both ends could cause problems. David will join Wilko Wednesday and Thursday to work on this noise pick-up. 2. All: planning layout for the new prototype front end. Robert stated he designed a cell to receive the new version of trigger that contains the two-bit event number. Dieter is progressing well. He expects to have the front-end amplifier/shaper/discriminator and bias circuit completed by the end of this week. He will then work on the SEU circuit that Ned designed and implement two “large” shift registers, one with the SEU circuitry and one without. 3. A.O.B. David stated that Gunther wants us to postpone the CDR to mid October.
