Minutes of the Tracker Electronics Meeting Oct 9, 2000 Present: Robert, Hartmut, David, Masa, and Wilko 1. Materials, Hartmut: Hartmut stated that he is worried about the total material in the Tracker. This started by David requesting 200um polyimide dielectric material between the shield plain and top conductor surface of the Kapton face sheets in accordance with the IPC standards. Hartmut is going to calculate the radiation lengths of all materials in the tray. David asked about the use of G-10/FR-4 instead of polyimide since the CTE is about the same and FR-4 is much cheaper. David pointed out the list of materials that are available for circuit board fabrication in the IPC-2221, Figure 7-2. It is clear that boards fabricated from ARAMID with CTE of 6ppm is a much better match to tungsten and silicon. David is going to find manufacturers of the various materials listed IPC-2221, Figure 7-2. 2. Noise tests - QVDD, Masa: Masa stated he would measure the effect on noise performance of biasing QVDD on AVDD2 or AVDD as it is now. He will use a 47pF capacitor on the input. He did not get to it last week.
