Minutes of the Tracker Electronics Meeting

March 5, 2001

Present: Robert, David, Ned, Masa, Wilko, and Dieter

1. Test preamp: Dieter stated he had sent the test chip Viewlogic schematics to the FTP site "incoming". Masa is working on setup. Channel 1,2 and 6 are dead maybe. Masa suggests he may want to test another chip. Dieter stated he is trying to understand the factor of two in shaper gain. Dieter was concerned if the discriminator output could be coupling back into the amplifier. Dieter may go to UCSC on Friday with David if Masa is still having trouble.

2. GTFE: Robert; Robert stated that he has complete the simulation of command decoder, FIFO, shift register. He stated that everything is working well after a few minor fixes. Robert is now working on simulating the chip-chip communication Robert will also try to run the simulation at 40MHz to see if it still works properly. Robert stated he would ask Ned about some issues with the reset circuits. Layout status: Ned; Ned stated that the pad frame schematic is nearly complete. He is working on the corners. Ned and Robert said that they would start working to merge their schematics into one set.

3. Peregrine chip. David stated he would pick up the chips Tuesday. Robert stated their student would start testing for noise. Dieter stated that for the Peregrine chip it would not be possible to test the stand-alone transistors without the FIB fixup.
