Copying Data to Microsoft Word

If you are writing a lab report or other document in Microsoft Word, there are a couple of ways to copy data from Graphical Analysis into a Word file. The following directions apply to Word.

Copy and Paste:

1. The data must be visible in a data table in Graphical Analysis.
2. Select the data you want to copy into Word. You can only copy the columns and rows that you select. If you want to copy the whole data table, click the table to select it, then choose Select All  from the Edit menu.
3. Select Copy from the Edit menu to copy the data to the clipboard.
4. If the receiving document is already open, switch to it and move the cursor to the appropriate location. If not, load Microsoft Word and the receiving document.
5. In Word select Paste from the Edit menu or click on the Paste button.

Export as Text:

1. In Graphical Analysis, select Export as Text from the File menu.
2. Save the file with the name of your choise. Notice that it will be saved with a .txt extension.
3. Launch Microsoft Word.
4. Choose Open from the File menu, and select your saved file with the .txt extension.

Notice that this file will include the data as well as formatting information, including column titles, date, etc..
