SOME PLOTS RELATING TO THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE LARGE DETECTOR
The following plot is a comparison of the momentum resolution
as a function of cos(0), for momenta of 1, 15, and 250 GeV/c,
between a TPC inner radius of 25cm and 50cm. In the case
with the larger radius, the TPC layer thickness is maintained,
so there are correspondingly fewer layers.
The following plot compares the 25cm TPC
momentum resolution as a function
of momentum, for two values of cos(0), with and
without an intermediate tracking layer at 24cm radius.
Same as above, but for the 50cm TPC, and for two possible intermediate
tracking scenarios: a) one layer at 48cm and b) two layers, at
24cm and 48cm.
A plot showoing the marginal difference in momentum resolution
achieved by small angle (+/- 0.020 rad) stereo vs. large angle
(0 and pi/2 rad) stereo.
