Information for prospective students

Prospective graduate students

The ATLAS group admits 1-3 graduate students each year. Successful applicants usually have strong research backgrounds and strong academic performance. Experience with micro-electronics and/or data analysis is preferred.

Prospective undergraduate students

Many undergraduate students have conducted undergraduate research and completed senior theses under my supervision. I expect students to have completed at least PHYS 102 (Modern Physics) and preferably PHYS 129 (Nuclear and Particle Astrophysics) as academic background. Experience with Linux and computer programming (Python or C++) is an advantage. Typical projects involve particle detector electronics or analysis of simulated LHC collisions.
