The DPF 2013 Conference will include several social events.
Tuesday, August 13 – Welcome Reception
A welcome reception will be held on the Cowell College terrace overlooking the beautiful East Field and the gorgeous Monterey Bay. The reception begins at 5:45pm.
Wednesday, August 14 – Public Lecture
The DPF 2013 conference will include a public lecture featuring Professor Hitoshi Murayama. The lecture, titled “The Quantum Universe,” will be held at the Rio Theatre on Wednesday evening, August 14, at 8:00pm. Admission is free for conference registrants and busing will be provided from the UCSC campus.
Thursday, August 15 – Conference Dinner
The DPF Conference Dinner will be held at the Cocoanut Grove at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Bus transportation will be provided from campus for this event with early and late busing options for participants who wish to spend time at the Boardwalk or at the Santa Cruz Wharf.
Friday, August 16 – Shakespeare Santa Cruz
Shakespeare Santa Cruz is a nationally recognized, professional theatre company operating in collaboration with UCSC Theater Arts. Performances are held in the Festival Glen, an outdoor theatre amongst the redwoods. Tickets for the Friday evening performance of Taming of the Shrew are offered to DPF participants at a reduced rate. For more information, please see their website.
