Transportation
Most visitors and students find they do not need a rental car if they are staying on campus. Santa Cruz has an excellent public transportation system, with several buses per hour linking the campus and downtown Santa Cruz. Tour bus transportation will be provided for both the public lecture and the conference dinner. Daily bussing will not be provided from area hotels to the conference.
The following companies operate airport shuttles between the airports and Santa Cruz:
Santa Cruz Flyer: $40 from SJC and $55 from SFO, with fixed shuttle times.
Santa Cruz Airport Shuttles: $50 for a shuttle from SJC and $80 from SFO (Extra $10 for each additional passenger)
Early Bird Shuttles: $75 from SJC and $115 from SFO (Extra $10 for each additional passenger after the first 3)

Please note that public transportation from Bay Area airports to UC Santa Cruz can take several hours.
Parking
Participants who wish to rent a vehicle or drive their own vehicle to campus will need a parking permit. Parking on the UCSC campus is regulated 24-hours, 7 days a week and all vehicles parked on the campus are required to have a parking permit. Participants who are staying in on-campus apartments will receive a parking permit as part of their housing package. Commuters may purchase a parking permit as part of registration.
