Thanks to everyone associated with the Spring 2008 Re-Entry Team for a enjoyable season. Although we fell short in our goal to defend our fall championship, there is still alot to be proud of, with plenty of memorable momenst to savor. Our new teammates played valiantly, and we anticipate a bright future for the upcoming fall season as we pursue that fall 2008 coed softball championship!

With a loss to the Fighting Camels, the Re-Entry season comes to an end. Just like last spring, we missed the playoffs. This season, we were unlucky to find ourselves in a division with three other really good teams. Unfortunately, we just weren't able to overcome these three opponents (although the outcome might have been different on a different day...). However, consider Choi's Boys and Girls, who went undefeated apart from a forfeited game due to a scheduling conflict. Despite a three way tie for first place, Choi's Boys and Girls lost the tiebreaking (presumably based on run differential) and missed the playoffs as well. Had we won against the Fighting Camels, they would have advanced to the playoffs.

Manager's Blog

A close game that could have gone either way. Rob played shortstop (substituting for Howie, who was off in Barcelona) and he did a really great job. Daniel played a solid first base. Jim came out and he did such an awesome job---a few times he made some amazing running catches. As usual David had some great hits and played great in the outfield. There were some errors that cost us a few runs, and in the end we fell a little short in a close contest.

Location of the Softball Fields

All fields are adjacent to the East Field House. The field closest to the swimming pool is Field 1 (for another view click here). Follow the running track in the direction of Monterey Bay to reach Field 2. Keep following the track as it turns, and you will then end up at Field 3, which is the furthest of the three softball fields from the Field House.
